Has anyone ever told you that you may need your vision checked? According CDC, there are about 11 million Americans over the age of 12 that need vision correction. There are several people in this population that believe their eyes are fine. Eye diseases are common and preventive care can make all of the difference. As an eyeglasses and contacts wear, I made it a priority to elevate my eye health as a part of my wellness routine. Line of Sight is an aesthetically pleasing eye doctor’s office with advanced technology and fashionable products. I spent four visits at the studio with the staff there to ensure that my eyes and my eye health were properly protected.
The Process
Line of Sight is located in Hudson Yards with a heavy focus on preventative and rejuvenating eye care. It was founded by Dr. Jennifer Tsai, who has expertise in dry eye disease. Dr. Tsai felt that her expertise would best fit her clients to focus on preventative care After spending years at Mount Sinai with clients affected too late to exit with chronic eye health. I spent time with Dr. Tsai on my concerns about being an eyeglasses and contacts wearer with high activity on screens, small written text, and driving. It brought up issues with dry eyes, blurry eyes, and eye tiredness. We got started on a targeted plan for my eye health with preventative care in mind.
First, her staff took me through the process of how they check dry eyes and my eye health. One of these treatments included innovative technology from Zeiss that used a machine to check the back of my eyes without dilation. It was amazing to see how eye care has elevated over time. Dr. Tsai recommended a special pair of Zeiss lenses for my new eyeglasses that work well with distance from reading a screen on your phone to driving without the bifocal breakup. She then focused on my blurry eyes by switching my contacts from monthly to highly quality Alcon Precision 1 daily wear contact lenses that are light on the eyes and more hygienic.
Eye Innovations
Dr. Tsai has innovative opportunities for eye care with different services from medical services to aesthetics. She has different services focused on those areas that you wouldn’t expect to see in an eye doctor’s office. She has red light therapy, radio frequency therapy (RF) for eye, intense pulsed light (IPL) for Eye, Regenerative Stem Cell Therapy, Micro-needling, Skin Rejuvenation facials including exosome regeneration treatment and salmon polynucleotide aka salmon DNA facial, and more. Beauty treatments are an innovative technology for the face and they are included in overall eye care too as a medical treatment. “When people realize that we offer these services to help with not surgical lifting, under eye bags, dark circles, to then come to find out these treatments actually help enhance our overall eye health. Then people become more interested and then they see a big difference,” said Dr. Tsai. As the eye area is sensitive, they provide these services in-house with a medical aesthetic nurse and medical aestheticians. A big bonus is that you can use HSA funds with these treatments as they are used for medical reasons for overall eye health.
My personal experience made it worth the investment. After my exam, I took time with the client advisors to go through my options. Rich went through my style goals for my eyeglasses. I have a black pair and a silver pair of glasses in my wardrobe. We took a look at 6 different options from different high-end and luxury accessories brands. I ended up choosing a gold pair of Ahlem glasses. The gold frame glasses were originally sunglasses with an interesting design. They look stunning while bringing attention to my cheekbones. I love to style this with my hair pulled back and beautiful earrings to call more attention to them. After three months of wearing them, they are one of my favorite jewelry and health investments that I made. My eye tension from blue light and screens has gone down. I felt taken care of by Sami, Rich, and Ali regarding my style choices, my fitting, and any other concerns I had for my service. My eyes feel better after changing my eyeglasses and contacts.
As I continue my journey into my eye health, Line of Sight is my go-to recommendation for eye care in New York. You can watch my experience here
